Key Responsibilities:
- The Medical Assistant will undertake a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, including:
- Administering basic life support during emergencies for patients and staff.
- Utilizing medical equipment safely and effectively.
- Performing various types of injections and skin tests.
- Conducting eye and ear washes as needed.
- Administering medications through various routes.
- Providing basic respiratory treatments.
- Removing casts, sutures, and other external devices.
- Changing simple dressings and collecting blood samples.
- Gathering lab specimens and ensuring proper labeling.
- Recording and monitoring vital signs.
- Conducting basic vision assessments when necessary.

- Providing therapeutic interventions for adaptive skills.
- Explaining medical procedures and instructions to patients and staff.
- Identifying patients needing accommodations.
- Safeguarding personal belongings of patients.
- Assisting healthcare providers during examinations and treatments.
- Interviewing patients to collect medical histories and preparing them for exams.
- Documenting and reporting clinical symptoms and behaviors.
- Maintaining confidentiality of medical information.
- Implementing infection control measures.
- Recognizing and reporting potential security issues.
- Managing patient scheduling and clinic supplies.
Qualifications:
- Active Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved agency.
- Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience within the last 3 years.
- BLS certification from a recognized organization.
- Proficiency in English (both speaking and writing).
- Certification from recognized boards such as AAMA, AMT, CCBMA, or AMCA.
