About the Role:

The Perioperative Nurse Specialist is a vital member of our Surgical Care Team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the peri-operative setting. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and compassion, this role requires a strong foundation in nursing principles and a passion for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the peri-operative setting.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions throughout the surgical process.
  • Direct and guide OR Technicians and other personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing and promote efficient patient flow.
  • Work with other departments to provide a continuum of care and co-workers to deliver continuous, quality patient care and maintain unit organization.

Requirements:

  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on-the-job training
  • Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
