Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our medical team at VCA Cat Hospital of Philadelphia. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our veterinarians and technicians in delivering exceptional medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate patient care, including administering medications, collecting lab samples, and assisting with diagnostic imaging and surgical procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional client education and care, ensuring that pet owners are informed and empowered to make the best decisions for their pets.
  • Assist with pharmacy and medication administration, ensuring accurate and timely dispensing of medications.
  • Support our veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality medical services, including anesthesia monitoring and dentistry.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with our medical team.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary technology degree or certification a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other medical staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
