Geisinger Health System is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Geisinger Medical Center. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care by collecting high-quality blood specimens for testing and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
- Exhibit knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements.
- Perform accessioning procedures accurately to ensure positive identification of specimens.
- Recognize and resolve discrepancies in specimen suitability and acceptability.
- Handle and replenish reagents and supplies according to established protocols.
- Follow established reporting procedures and report problems and solutions as needed.
- Access multiple computer applications as needed.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the state and employer
