Job Summary

Norfolk Public School District is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing speech and language services to students with speech and language impairments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention
    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' strengths and weaknesses in speech and language skills.
    • Develop and implement targeted interventions to address students' speech and language needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
    • Provide regular progress updates to parents and teachers on students' speech and language progress.
  • Record Keeping and Data Analysis
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of students' speech and language progress.
    • Analyze data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the Virginia Board of Examiners for Audiology and Speech Pathology.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Considerable knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective remediation of students with speech and language disorders.
    • Ability to work effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
    • Ability to accurately observe, report, and record learning progress of students.
Benefits

Norfolk Public School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including an advanced degree stipend. In addition, this position is eligible for a Master's degree stipend of $3,500 per year, a Master's degree with 30 hours stipend of $5,400 per year, and a Doctoral degree stipend of $7,800 per year.
