Job Summary

Discover Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our Imaging Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic radiologic examinations, utilizing your expertise to ensure high-quality images and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently perform diagnostic radiologic examinations, including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and mammography duties, as applicable.
  • Operate and maintain digital radiography (DR) systems, CT equipment, DXA, PACS, and other computer-based equipment.
  • Assess patient limitations and modify procedures to meet individual needs while obtaining high-quality images.
  • Administer contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist/physician for exams requiring injectable solutions.
  • Monitor patient physiologic changes during procedures and keep radiologists informed.
  • Use tact, diplomacy, and courtesy in dealings with patients, staff, family, visitors, and volunteers.
  • Continuously review new developments in radiology to stay up-to-date on technological advances.
  • Maintain electronic records of patient studies and statistical reports.
  • Troubleshoot equipment used in diagnostic radiologic procedures.
  • Perform quality control procedures and ensure departmental equipment and supplies are properly managed.
Requirements
  • Certification in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).
  • Advanced ARRT certification for CT, MRI, or Mammography duties, as applicable.
  • Completion of a full-time training course in diagnostic radiologic technology, evidenced by a certificate or associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or other recognized accrediting agencies.
  • English language proficiency, as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
Work Environment

Typical work hours are 9:30am-6pm, Monday through Friday, with call/weekend/holiday rotations.
