Overview: We are in search of a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide essential support to Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in delivering effective speech and language services. The role involves assisting in the execution of therapy plans and fostering the communication development of students.

Key Duties:

  • Support SLPs in administering therapy services to students under their guidance.
  • Execute therapy plans and activities as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Conduct screenings and gather data on student progress.
  • Organize and prepare therapy materials and resources.
  • Maintain precise and confidential records of therapy sessions and student advancements.
  • Assist the SLP in formulating individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy objectives.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other school personnel to address students' communication requirements.
  • Engage in meetings and contribute to discussions regarding student progress and program enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related discipline.
  • Valid Virginia State Licensure as an SLPA.
  • Preferred certification or registration as an SLPA.
  • Experience with children in educational or clinical environments is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to follow instructions and implement therapy plans proficiently.
