Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in our Children's program in Mount Laurel, NJ. As a LPN, you will provide nursing services to persons served by Bancroft, operating within personal license constraints and in strict accordance with regulations and guidelines defined by the Nurse Practices Act, Division of Developmental Disabilities, Department of Health, and other relevant authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Review and accurately transcribe physician orders for documentation into the medical record of each person served.
  • Obtain detailed health histories and conduct health screenings and physical assessments of persons served, including vital signs, height, weight, pain assessments, nutritional needs, abuse and neglect screening, etc.
  • Perform on-site visits of program sites to ensure the health, safety, security, and overall quality of care for persons served.
  • Continually monitor medical charts/summaries of the care provided to individual persons served to ensure the currency of the information, adherence to physician orders, and proper documentation of medications and treatments.
  • Administer first aid and emergency medical treatment to persons served in the event of illness and/or injury.
  • Establish and regularly maintain clinical records of persons served, including medical history, drug reactions, allergies, prescribed medications, etc.
  • Administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders, monitor the medication process for efficacy, side effects, expected outcome, and adverse reactions.
  • Interact on a regular basis with Nurse Managers and case management staff.

Qualifications

A Licensed Practical Nurse from an accredited Nursing program with a current and valid license required. Prior nursing experience working with the developmentally disabled and/or the traumatically brain injured preferred.
