About the Opportunity

The Downers Grove Park District is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our Parks Maintenance team as a Seasonal Park Maintenance Team Member. With 48 parks located throughout our community, we are looking for someone to help maintain, improve, and beautify our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled labor at District parks and facilities, including open spaces, paths, natural areas, structures, buildings, parking lots, and special facilities.
  • Care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns, and other natural resources.
  • Assist with ongoing parks maintenance, installations, repairs, and projects.
  • Operate District-owned equipment, including power tools and mowers.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication between staff and patrons.
  • Follow District safety policies to ensure the safety of program participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid, Class D, Driver's License.
  • Must be able to move 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with small engines, mowers, and power tools is preferred.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

What We Offer

  • Hourly pay rate starts at $16.00.
  • Flexible scheduling with the ability to work 16 to 40 hours per week.
