Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Environmental Education Program Facilitator to join our team at Pathfinder Ranch, Inc.

Job Summary

The Environmental Education Program Facilitator will be responsible for facilitating a variety of academic subjects and recreation activities under the supervision of the Program Manager. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Program Facilitation: Facilitate program including classes, evening programs, and meals for client groups and special events, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate program records and logs.
  • Curriculum Development: Assist in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Public Relations: Provide positive public relations on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch and serve as a liaison with client groups.
  • Cabin Supervision: Assist group chaperones with cabin supervision and evening rituals.
  • Behavior Management: Communicate behavior issues with school faculty and occasionally provide behavior management to clients.
  • First Aid and CPR: Provide basic First Aid and CPR to clients.
  • Inventory and Equipment Acquisition: Inventory and recommend equipment acquisitions as needed.
  • Camp Activities: Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning, and leadership roles, including staff meetings.
  • Overall Program Operations: Assist in overall program operations, including animal and garden care.
  • Professional Development: Keep up-to-date and engaged with new teaching pedagogies and practices.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the security and safety of camp facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Policies and Procedures: Follow and uphold all policies and procedures of Pathfinder Ranch.
Requirements
  • Age: 18 years of age or older.
  • Certifications: Current Adult and Child First Aid & CPR/AED certifications from a nationally recognized provider.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate ecological, recreational, and conservation concepts to 5th and 6th grade students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Mentoring Relationships: Passion for teaching and building strong mentoring relationships with students.
  • Teamwork: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and provide high-quality customer service to clients.
  • Task Completion: Complete tasks both independently and collaboratively in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communication: Communicate and coordinate with participant parents/guardians/group liaisons.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Past experience with ropes courses, horses, farm animals, reptiles, and/or gardens.
  • Work Experience: 1+ years experience working in a camp setting.
  • Certifications: Current Lifeguard or Watercraft Guard certification from a nationally recognized provider.
  • Languages: Bilingual or multilingual.
  • Degree: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or related work experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
  • Shift Schedule: Ability to work a varied shift schedule in excess of 10 hours per day.
  • Terrain and Weather: Ability to traverse several miles per day on steep and uneven terrain in a variety of weather conditions.
Compensation and Benefits

$660.00 - $780.00 per week
