Job Summary

Jensen Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all equipment, including Loaders, Excavators, Cranes, diesel engines, and associated items, to ensure they are in proper and safe working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Correctly services and repairs all equipment and associated items independently.
  • Correctly implements the Company's preventative maintenance programs and follows all service schedules.
  • Personally inspects plants, vehicles, and equipment for proper operation and condition.
  • Properly 'trouble-shoots' and diagnoses mechanical and operational problems.
  • Works effectively on gasoline or diesel engines, and all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electronic systems.
  • Accurately documents all service and repair work. Maintains complete repair and service reports and records.
  • Works safely. Follows all applicable Safety Programs and policies.
  • Knows and follows the Company's Purchasing Policy, and policies related to the care of its property.
  • Works proficiently in a team organization.
  • Works effectively under time and scheduling deadlines.
  • Must be professional, friendly, cooperative, positive, and courteous in manner and presentation.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.

The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock or burn.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Work schedule is Monday through Friday with weekend and some holiday and evening work required. Generally, 45+ hours per week.
