Electrical Engineer Job Description

Actalent is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems for a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct electrical design and analysis for a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
  • Perform field surveys to assess existing electrical systems, identify deficiencies, and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical and plumbing components.
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations throughout the design process.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters as needed.
  • Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and site visits to communicate project progress and address any concerns.
  • Review project documents, contracts, and proposals to ensure accuracy and feasibility of electrical designs.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical engineering to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design within the MEP industry.
  • Ability to obtain EIT/PE is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy efficiency strategies is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and possess a valid driver's license.
