Job Overview

Merrimack College seeks a skilled and experienced Residential Life Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential areas. As a key member of our Student Affairs team, you will provide leadership and support to our resident advisors, graduate resident directors, and students.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of programs and activities within the residential area, working closely with the Resident Advisor staff to create a positive and inclusive community.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to individual students, addressing concerns and mediating conflicts in a fair and respectful manner.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the residential area, including room changes, facilities maintenance, and billing for damages.
  • Collaborate with the central office on tasks such as housing selection, RA selection, and RA training.
  • Participate in the on-call duty rotation, responding to crisis situations and emergencies when the college is closed.
  • Serve as a hearing officer for student conduct cases.
  • Attend regular departmental and RA staff meetings, as well as individual meetings with your supervisor and all staff trainings.

This position offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience. Merrimack College also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as access to our on-campus fitness center and wellness programs.

Requirements
  • A Master's degree preferred, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in residence life or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations.
  • A commitment to community development and programming, with experience in event planning and coordination.
