Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join our team at Ascension. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of patients.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate, to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide population-specific education to patients and families about their illness and therapeutic interventions, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
  • Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure the safety of the transport team, patients, and the public.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • One or more of the following required:
      • Paramedic specializing in Flight credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Paramedic credentialed from the Florida Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
