Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Coffee Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, diagnose, and treat patients with a range of medical conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia.
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a physician office or ambulatory care setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and practice management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Specific Duties and Performance Standards

  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Use CPT and ICD-9 coding effectively and appropriately.
  • Sign off on all dictation/test ordered, ensuring collaborating physician signs as well.
  • Assist physician as needed, and assist with any nursing duties as required.
  • Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition, interpret diagnostic test results, and make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, educate patients and/or families about preventive care, family planning, medical issues, and use of medical treatment and/or medications.
  • Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, test performed, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.
  • Facilitate evaluation of record by physician(s) and receive and implement constructive directives.
  • Stay abreast of clinical issues, improvement procedures, medications, warnings, etc., and apply them accordingly.
  • Must keep up with CME's required for licensure.
  • Analyze new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, and hands-on training, review with collaborating physician, and assimilate this knowledge into clinical practice.

  • Attend all mandatory and department-specific education and training programs as required.
  • Attend all required education and training and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job-related hazards.
