Job Title: Custodian

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our Facilities Management Team at Clear Creek School District RE-1.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including cleaning, trash removal, and general maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Vacuum and clean floors, including carpets and hard surfaces.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from the facility.
  • Assist with snow removal from walkways and other areas.
  • Set up for groups and special events or activities by staff or outside usage.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
  • Oversee the general security of the facility during regular shift.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Less than one (1) year job-related experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the school and school district community, as well as the public at large.
  • Ability to meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
Work Environment:

The Custodian will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements:

The Custodian will be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and talk or hear. The employee will occasionally be required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
