Position Overview:

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a dedicated Software Developer to provide critical support for the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)/Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer (CIAT) program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize your skills and knowledge to deliver effective solutions and services to our clients.
  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers in the development of various software products for the US Government.
  • Transform requirements specifications into functional software applications through development and modification.
  • Engage in design, coding, benchmarking, testing, debugging, and documentation of application features and updates.
  • Evaluate existing enterprise applications to implement new features, enhance performance, and ensure ongoing support.
  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of new systems, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Assist in the successful deployment of systems by creating documentation, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Participate in an Agile team environment, engaging in Sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews, and daily standups.
  • Collaborate closely with team members in a pair programming setting.
  • Work within a secure environment on classified software products.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the field, or a high school diploma with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in software development on Windows 10 and/or Red Hat 7.9, along with technical documentation skills.
  • Experience with Java11+ and C++11 programming languages.
  • Familiarity with RedHat 7/9 terminal navigation and commands.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Batch, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development practices and Software Design Concepts.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, including Sprint Planning and Backlog Refinement.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Proficient with tools such as Jira, Gradle, CMake, Confluence, Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in supporting US Government software products for the CIAT program.
  • Understanding of the Aegis Combat System is a plus.
Security Clearance:
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required, with the ability to maintain it.
Travel Requirements:
  • This position is primarily on-site.
  • Minimal travel is expected, less than 10%.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Capability to move about to complete tasks or transition between work sites.
  • Effective communication skills for information exchange.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, including those involving the wrists, hands, and fingers, and to lift objects up to 20 pounds.
