Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Member Service Representative to join our team at the Butler County Family YMCA. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our members, guests, and program participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service to members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention and recruitment.
  • Build relationships with members, helping them connect with one another and to the YMCA.
  • Conduct tours to prospective members and sell memberships.
  • Handle and resolve membership concerns, informing supervisors of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Process new members/program memberships, answering questions about the organization and providing accurate information in a positive and professional manner.
  • Monitor visitor access, scanning membership cards, issuing one-day passes, and controlling unauthorized entry.
  • Receive payments for services and products according to type of membership and YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, collating, and maintaining adequate supplies.
  • Respect and cooperate with co-workers, accepting constructive criticism.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
Working Environment & Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Work schedule will include daytime and evening hours and a flexible work schedule.

All positions require the following clearances for employment prior to the date of hire. Clearances are accepted within 2 years of the hire date.
