Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

At University of Toledo Physicians, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical discovery. As a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in our Trauma Surgery SICU Nights Only team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat patients in collaboration with physicians, utilizing your expertise in clinical practice and patient assessment.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families, promoting health and wellness through preventative care and disease management.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of clinical practice guidelines and policies that enhance patient care.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, with a Master's degree in a relevant field.
- State of Ohio licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Current BLS certification.
- Eligibility to obtain and/or maintain Certificate to Prescribe/DEA.

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work nights only, holidays, and weekends.
- Tolerate a busy environment with constant interaction with patients, employees, students, residents, and physicians.
- Requires prolonged walking and standing, occasional lifting of patients up to 200 pounds, and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to work effectively with internal and external customers in stressful situations.
