We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Neurosurgery team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our neurosurgeons to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Job Summary:Under the direction of our Chair, Division Chief, and Sr. Director of Administration, you will serve as a Physician Assistant (APP or NP) for the Neurosurgery Academic Division. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Performing specialty examinations of patients based on an understanding of neurosurgical pathology
- Administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interpreting test results for deviations from normal with a neurosurgical specialty focus
- Developing and implementing specialty-focused patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provisions of continuity of care
- Instructing and counseling surgical subspecialty patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from a Physician Assistant Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- New Jersey License from the State Board of Medical Examiners-Physician Advisory Committee
