Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Trades Specialist (Electrician) to join our team at the New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, Office of. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including fixtures, motors, and wiring.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical system malfunctions, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Test electrical equipment to ensure compliance with electrical codes and specifications.
  • Supervise and train subordinate staff in the proper use of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment, making recommendations for repairs or replacements.
Requirements
  • Four years of full-time experience in the electrical trade under a skilled tradesperson, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Successful completion of a two-year Trades Specialist (Electrician) traineeship or equivalent program, including 288 hours of trade-specific classroom instruction and 4,000 hours of on-the-job training.
  • Ability to prepare job estimates and order shop supplies.
  • Must be able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
  • Follow appropriate safety standards.
