Job Title: Registered Nurse, Pediatrics and ENT

At The University of Chicago Medicine, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pediatrics and ENT department. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in the Pediatrics and ENT department. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient consent for care and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Assess patient health history, vital signs, and health risk factors
  • Provide patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations
  • Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administer medications, and monitor treatment progress
  • Delegate tasks as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act and refer to/consult with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed
  • Educate patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Document patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms and documentation practices
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes
  • Track quality assurance data and monitor for acute and chronic care management
Requirements:
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois
  • Minimum of one year professional nursing experience
  • Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Prior clinic experience
