Job Overview

Position Title: WAN Engineer Subject Matter Expert

Location: Various operational sites

Security Clearance: Secret Clearance (Top Secret Clearance Preferred)

Educational Background & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 9 years of pertinent experience, or
  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 7 years of pertinent experience.
  • Degrees must be in an applicable field.
  • Possession of an 8570 Compliant Certification such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive experience in Network Development, including the design, testing, and implementation of new and enhanced capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding and experience with IPSEC, Multicast PIM DM, MPLS, QoS, GRE tunnels, Multiarea OSPF, and BGP traffic engineering.
  • Expertise in analyzing packet flows utilizing Wireshark or similar tools.
  • Practical experience with Juniper SRX firewall.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively in a motivated team setting, as well as independently manage substantial field projects.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in planning and facilitating the deployment of network infrastructure.
  • Prior involvement with C2BMC (Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications) is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support junior engineers with various tasks as required.
  • Plan, implement, integrate, and evaluate upgrades to the network at operational sites.
  • Lead and execute network installations in remote areas, independently troubleshoot issues, and provide updates to program stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and implement WAN solutions tailored for the project.
