Job Summary:

The Shift Manager will assist the General Manager and Assistant Manager in the operation of a Chicken Salad Chick restaurant in a manner that will provide our guests with a superb experience and will maintain an invigorating and stimulating work environment for all team members while helping the restaurant achieve its financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Restaurant Operations: Assist the General Manager and Assistant Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant within the budget.
  • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with established food standards, food quality, preparation and production by adhering to corporate food handling procedures and policies.
  • Team Member Development: Train and counsel hourly team members who work during Shift Manager's shift.
  • Guest Service: Guarantee highest level of hospitality and service to all guests at all times.
  • Administrative Tasks: Prepare and maintain administrative and financial records as directed by the General Manager.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Ensure specials, promotions, and marketing plans are presented according to company procedures during shift.
  • Shift Management: Ensure that hours of operation for the restaurant are maintained during their shift.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Ensure compliance with established safety and sanitation procedures and all Federal, State, and local regulations during shift.
  • Decision Making: Make decisions regarding team member position assignments, disciplinary actions (as needed when acting as Manager on Duty), execution of shift operations and keeping restaurant clean.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and professionally communicate with team members and guests.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability: Excellent attendance and punctuality; reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Education and Experience: Previous restaurant and/or retail experience a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting and Mobility: Exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Standing and Mobility: Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility, including bending and stooping, for the duration of the workday.
