Job Summary:

The Lead Mammography Technologist is a key member of the Radiology team at Duly Health and Care, responsible for the daily operation of the Breast Imaging section. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates day-to-day technologist activities, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinates and organizes patient flow throughout the department, prioritizing and shifting workloads as needed.
  • Keeps the Mammography department staff informed on system and/or operation changes.
  • Assists with staff development, including training and orienting new hires.
  • Conducts on-the-job training and evaluates skill development and quality of work produced by new technologists.
  • Works closely with the Radiologist's and Breast Imaging Supervisor to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities for innovation and quality improvement; participates in innovation projects and the quality improvement process.
  • Performs day-to-day Lead Mammography Technologist imaging duties, including performing Mammography procedures as requested by a physician.
  • Provides documentation and reports on equipment and supply needs, physician requests, complaints, and routine operational issues.
  • Maintains a high level of technical proficiency regarding system management, advanced applications, and current applications of the modality.
  • Troubleshoots equipment or procedure problems with appropriate follow-up to service engineers.
  • Attends regularly scheduled department meetings and in-services to maintain working knowledge of changes in equipment and protocols.
  • Works with department Manager/Breast Imaging Supervisor to maintain ACR accreditation for Mammography and ensure MQSA standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Maintains ARRT and IEMA licensure/certifications and ongoing CEUs for professional development on a timely basis.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification.
  • Associates Degree.
  • 5 years Mammography Experience.
