Position Overview:
The Clinical Psychiatrist plays a crucial role in overseeing the medical and psychological care of patients. This includes conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to ensure that each patient has a current and effective treatment strategy tailored to their mental health and medical needs, as well as their social circumstances.
Facility: Peak View Behavioral Health
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical services to patients in accordance with established medical protocols and regulatory standards.
- Assess patient medical histories to confirm stability and provide informed medical advice.
- Conduct evaluations for various mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Administer or oversee treatment plans utilizing diverse therapeutic techniques and medications.
- Complete and review medical documentation for personalized care plans, ensuring timely record-keeping.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to compliance and billing procedures as per established policies.
- Engage in various professional duties, including patient admissions, staff coverage during absences, and court appearances related to involuntary commitments.
- Share insights and progress reports about patients with fellow clinicians and treatment teams.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO) with completion of a psychiatric residency program.
- Preferred experience of one or more years post-residency.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant state.
- Board certification or eligibility for board certification in a mental health specialty.
- Current DEA credentials for prescribing controlled substances in compliance with state regulations.
- Additional DEA credentials may be necessary based on state and facility guidelines.
- Certification in CPR and de-escalation/restraint techniques is required (training provided upon hiring).
