Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with acute, non-acute, and chronic health problems.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, consultants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, adhering to VHA Directive and VHNIHCS policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or non-citizen eligible for employment with the Federal Government.
  • Must possess a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must have completed a residency program in a primary care specialty, such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in a primary care specialty.
  • Experience working in a primary care setting, preferably in a VA or similar healthcare organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
