Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Regional Director to lead our Northern San Mateo County Career Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all career center activities, leading and managing relationships with key partners and stakeholders, and working closely with our Executive Management team on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement a long-term workforce development strategy and implementation plan, working with JobTrain leadership to understand and shape our role within the regional landscape.
  • Manage the Career Center: Oversee the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities of the regional Career Center, including developing and delivering rapid response and rapid employment programs.
  • Lead and Manage a Team: Supervise a team of Employment Specialists and Support Staff, plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish work, and attract and select qualified staff to ensure efficient operation.
  • Build Relationships and Communicate: Build relationships and communicate with the community, employer partners, staff, peers, management, and administrative functions to understand needs and expectations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Demonstrated relevant experience in workforce development, providing vocational or employment services, case management, skills assessment, employment coaching, job development, job placement, and retention services.
  • Leadership and Management: Experience successfully serving in a leadership or strategic role, designing, developing, implementing, and marketing new programs in complex organizations with distributed, geographically diverse locations.
  • Partner and Employer Engagement: Experience with partner and employer engagement, including building relationships and communicating with stakeholders.
  • People Management: Demonstrated experience attracting, managing, developing, evaluating, and retaining staff, including managing, influencing, and motivating individuals and teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Regional Director I: 0-2 years of workforce development management experience.
  • Regional Director II: 2-4 years of workforce development management experience.
