We are seeking a talented Ruby on Rails developer to join our Corporate Systems Group (CSG) team in support of our enterprise content management initiative. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to leverage their technical expertise to drive innovation and improve existing enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, innovative programmer with experience developing Ruby on Rails applications. You will be working with a talented team of developers to build and maintain custom Ruby on Rails based content authoring tools and troubleshoot system and end-user issues.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a traditional corporate workplace and is comfortable working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. As a key member of our team, you will have the ability to contribute to the development of new features and solutions, including those related to content management systems and GraphQL API query language.

We are offering a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and design improvements to the system architecture, data models, and API implementation.
  • Select programming frameworks and libraries that will accelerate development of new features and speed-to-market.
  • Provide leadership and support for junior developers who are helping to build the learning content management system.
  • Work with and lead other team members to build and maintain custom Ruby on Rails based content authoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot system and end-user issues to determine the root cause of the problem and define mitigation steps.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement content and learning management solutions in information sharing application platforms.
  • Define, execute and automate workflows for deploying, updating, and bug-fixing a variety of online training content.
  • Manage server provisioning and basic application infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Interpret complex requests & implement based on aggressive timelines, work on multiple tasks independently with little direction.
  • Collaborate with team members in a Scrum/Agile development environment.
  • Ability to direct multiple projects to superior quality delivery.
  • Evaluate tasks, service level agreements, business need, urgency, and prioritize workload accordingly.
  • Translating designs into high quality code, writing unit tests and release to production
  • Understanding the existing ecosystem, Implement features, functions, and enhancements.
  • Ensuring application development sprint cycle is on track and adjusting the plan to meet release timelines and adapting to an agile environment.
  • Following and improving process, including the code review
  • Acting independently and displaying the excellent collaboration within and between various teams
  • Understanding the underlying domain and building domain knowledge.
  • Building the reusable code and libraries for future use.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience developing Ruby on Rails applications.
  • Experience with the MySQL and PostgreSQL database technologies.
  • Experience with front-end Javascript development.
