Job Summary:

The Inpatient Physical Therapy Specialist will provide high-quality treatment to patients with physical therapy needs, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. This role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency in computer software and technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients based on departmental standards and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct and modify evaluations based on patient symptoms, activity level, and medical status
  • Administer physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to relieve pain and attain established goals
  • Educate patients and families in home exercise programs and functional activities to maximize independent function
  • Determine when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommend discharge if appropriate
  • Accurately document patient information in accordance with insurance guidelines and department policies

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.
  • Current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in computer software and technology, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
