Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Montclair. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and providing exceptional service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prevent crimes and enforce laws to ensure public safety
  • Investigate complaints and apprehend criminals and suspects
  • Protect the innocent, help the distressed, and safeguard public rights
  • Assume responsibilities and perform duties related to the work, as required
Work Schedule

Police Officers work a Monday - Thursday 10-hour schedule or Friday - Sunday 12.5 hour schedule.

Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in, or hold a certificate of completion from a POST-certified Basic Academy, or currently employed as a Police Officer with a California law enforcement agency and possess a California POST Basic Certificate
Selection Process
  • A copy of your POST or Academy Certificate must be uploaded to your application
  • POST PHYSICAL AGILITY: Candidates who are currently enrolled in a POST academy, or have graduated from a POST academy within six months are exempt from taking the agility
  • ORAL INTERVIEW: Successful candidates will be required to participate in a standard in-person panel interview
