About the Role

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Space Enterprise Optimization Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Modeling & Simulation Engineering department, you will play a critical role in developing sophisticated simulation tools to support space and ground design, optimization, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analyses and trade studies to define and address customer needs
  • Apply concurrent engineering methods to support the design of space missions, including constellation design, orbital mechanics, and payload development
  • Leverage in-house and commercial engineering analysis tools to deliver technical insights and recommendations
  • Develop and present timely and technically accurate presentations and reports to technical leads, management, and customers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-organization partners, government customers, and contractor teammates
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field
  • Three or more years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with constellation design, orbital mechanics, or mathematics related to satellite access geometry
  • Significant history of making effective contributions to technical analysis or development projects
  • Ability to support multiple programs and/or activities simultaneously and act as a technical point-of-contact
  • Knowledge of Python, C, C++, MATLAB, or another programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree or extensive work experience in the fields of study mentioned above
  • Work history in national security space or intelligence mission areas, such as geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, space protection, ground systems, or communications infrastructure
  • Background in optimization techniques, genetic algorithms, space mission design, satellite constellation performance modeling, satellite orbit access analysis, simulation development, or payload/bus design
  • Experience independently creating, executing, and debugging modeling and simulation tools
