Cardiac Sonographer

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team in Fairfax, Virginia.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team at Inova Children's Cardiology. As a Pediatric Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms on patients of all ages, from fetuses to adults with congenital heart disease.

• Prepare patients for echocardiograms and perform exams according to echo lab protocol.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to obtain clinical history and informed consent.
• Identify errors and take immediate action for corrections.
• Assist technical director in obtaining or maintaining IAC accreditation.
• Act as a preceptor and resource for students and new sonographers.
• Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and recognize equipment malfunctions.
• Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities.
• Travel to outside clinic locations.

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound school or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare setting.
• Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a sonographer or sonographer student.
• ARDMS or CCI registered with RDCS or RDMS and at least two sonographer specialties.
• BLS Certification from AHA.
