Position Title: Radiologic Imaging Specialist - On-Demand as Required

Reports to: Radiology Supervisor

***This is an On-Demand position***

Position Overview: This role involves conducting radiologic examinations and ensuring the quality control of imaging equipment. Must be willing to travel to various locations within the organization. ARRT Certification is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts Radiology Studies
  • Builds patient trust during procedures by gathering relevant medical history, explaining the process, positioning patients for optimal results, and providing necessary cushioning and shielding.
  • Accurately positions patients for high-quality imaging and adjusts positioning as needed based on the patient's medical condition and capabilities. Adjusts all operator-controllable parameters of the equipment to ensure the specified body part receives the correct exposure.
  • Maintains control over operator-selectable parameters to customize images for the areas being examined while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Retrieves patients from the examination area and escorts them back post-exam, retrieves images in the Digital Radiology System, and prepares the exam for provider review.
  • Keeps detailed records of patients treated, examinations performed, and scans taken, maintaining a permanent record.
  • Evaluates image quality and reports any deficiencies as necessary.
  • Submits charges for procedures conducted.
  • Pulls and scans x-ray films into the PAC's System
  • Ensures Quality Control of Imaging Equipment
  • Maintains and orders supplies for the radiology department.
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks in the work area.
  • Maintains x-ray logs and required state-regulated documentation.
  • Participates in annual inspections and recertification of imaging equipment.
  • Alerts Supervisor and contacts Equipment Vendor in case of equipment malfunction.
  • Maintains quality control of equipment and coordinates preventative maintenance service calls with Equipment Vendor.
Additional Duties:
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Performs other incidental and related tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains CEUs as required for licensure.
  • Travels to different work locations as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) in radiology.
  • Active Florida License as General Radiographer
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Team-oriented individual
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Normal physical capabilities; able to sit and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently bend, walk, stand, and sit for prolonged durations
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate situations, solve problems, and make sound decisions
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
