Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior LVN Float to join our team at the University of California. As a Senior LVN Float, you will provide nursing support and leadership in the Department of Urology, working in an outpatient setting and assisting with urologic procedures such as cystoscopies and bladder installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and leadership in the Department of Urology
  • Assist with urologic procedures, including cystoscopies and bladder installations
  • Start I.V's, perform venipuncture, and administer medications as needed
  • Manage patient flow and collect data as appropriate
  • Provide back-up for the clinic front desk as needed
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a teaching plan related to self-care for patients
Requirements
  • CA LVN License (with IV and Blood Withdrawal Certification for Sr. LVN role)
  • CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Phlebotomy Certification (if LVN license is without IV Certification)
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to other Urology clinics as assigned
  • Ability to perform patient assessments and take appropriate action
  • Skill at setting up and maintaining sterile fields
  • Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and establish cooperative working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of urologic conditions and their treatments
  • Ability to assist with cystoscopic examination
  • Treatment skills including catheterizations and bladder installations
  • Experience with varied computer hardware and software
  • Expertise in speaking clearly and distinctly in both Spanish and English
