About the Role

Cedar Hills Hospital is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our interdisciplinary treatment team. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing activity services for assigned programs, working closely with patients to define and achieve treatment goals.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement activity services that promote patient engagement, socialization, and skill-building
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop targeted interventions
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in occupational, art, music, or recreational therapy, social work, or a related therapeutic discipline
  • One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness
  • Substance abuse certificate and/or state licensure preferred
  • Successful completion of CPR Certification, Handle with Care, and Service Excellence training within 90 days of employment
