About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Presbyterian Villages of Michigan. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our senior living communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Inspect and maintain mechanical devices, machinery, equipment, and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Respond to Maintenance Requests: Receive and respond to resident work orders, evaluating the work needed and completing assigned tasks within the required time frame.
  • Communicate with Vendors: Coordinate with outside vendors to receive proposals and maintain required paperwork.
  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Routinely inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment to determine the necessity of repairs or maintenance.
  • Assist with Scheduling: Assist the supervisor with scheduling and conducting unit inspections as required by HUD/MSHDA/PVM policy.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Install and Maintain Equipment: Install, assemble, repair, and maintain electrical and gas appliances, equipment, systems, fixtures, lights, electronic components, plumbing systems, and fixtures.
  • Provide Grounds-Keeping Services: Provide landscaping and snow removal services as needed.
  • Estimate and Complete Repairs: Estimate repair costs and complete repairs as authorized or forward to the supervisor for authorization.
  • Assist with Invoicing and Budgeting: Assist the manager with invoicing and staying within budget.
  • Communicate with Administrator: Communicate the status of projects, outstanding issues, and any relevant information to the administrator.
  • Ensure Housing Quality Standards: Ensure Housing Quality Standards are followed in units and the entire property.
  • Participate in Meetings and Training: Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities to stay informed on current information and skill development.
