Senior Cybersecurity Assurance Engineer

Peraton is looking for a Senior Information Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team, providing critical support to our Intelligence Community clients. As a vital member of our engineering group, you will engage in the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex systems within an Agile framework, contributing to the success of various missions.
Your Role:
- Offer specialized knowledge in the upkeep, support, and enhancement of the IT security framework, network architecture, software applications/tools, operational processes, and control documentation.
- Establish security requirements and perform security tasks to facilitate coding, testing, installation, certification, and deployment for both cloud-based and on-premises environments, including the transition of certain customer systems to the cloud.
- Create and sustain the program's System Security Plan and Test and Accreditation Package (TAP) in alignment with Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation.
- Ensure secure system configurations (e.g., STIGs), install security tools, and scan systems to assess compliance, providing detailed reports on findings.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, maintain continuous monitoring of system assets, and devise risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in security planning, execution, documentation of findings, and resolution of issues during system testing.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for management and clients regarding program Information Assurance issues.
- Deliver Information Assurance (IA) expertise, developing and maintaining security accreditation documentation to support program Certification and Accreditation (C&A) in accordance with DoD directives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of Top Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI, which is a requirement for this position.
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 8+ years of relevant experience. Four (4) years of pertinent experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
- Certification in Department of Defense Directive (DoDD, IAM-III) such as CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO, etc., or actively pursuing certification with the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
- Five years of experience with Linux and Windows systems, IT, and Networking Infrastructure.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, ICD-503, CISSP 1253, and JSIG standards.
- Experience in risk management, requirements analysis, design, testing, and certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to collaborate with management, clients, and stakeholders across the Department of Defense.
- Detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of current DoD/IC systems and doctrine, particularly regarding Cross-Domain Solution (CDS) guards, network/system security, and tactical and joint C4I systems.
- Familiarity with various commercial technologies, system security tools, and processes such as Splunk, Nessus/Security Center, Rational development tools, Ansible, J2EE architectures, SOA, Web Services, OpenStack, Docker Containers, XML, XSLT, HTML, Java Servlets, LDAP, SSL, and networking protocols.
