Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fitness Director to lead our fitness-based activities and excursions at Ivy Park at Otay Ranch. As a Fitness Director, you will be responsible for scheduling, budgeting, promoting, and facilitating physical activity programs that cater to the interests and needs of our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for residents on physical fitness and nutrition.
  • Schedule fitness vendors weekly and lead exercise classes weekly.
  • Instruct residents on the safe operation of all exercise equipment and maintain documentation of such training.
  • Oversee safe swimming programs for Communities with pools.
  • Maintain all exercise equipment and the fitness room in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Promptly arrange for equipment repair if items become damaged or inoperable.
  • Lead orientations/trainings to instruct residents and team members on the proper use of all machines and devices in the fitness center.
  • Promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes, and other such activities aimed at residents' fitness and physical activity.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer one (1) year experience coordinating or teaching fitness-related activities to seniors.
  • Requires current Class C, prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
  • Able to safely operate standard fitness equipment.
  • Flexibility in work schedule as evidenced by working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary.
  • Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
