Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to join our Developmental Pediatrics Team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in evaluating and diagnosing mental disorders and behavioral conditions in children, and providing comprehensive treatment and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose mental disorders and behavioral conditions in children, and develop effective treatment plans to address these issues.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, brief psychotherapy, and psychoeducation groups to support children and their families.
  • Collaborate with treating physicians, psychiatric professionals, and allied health professionals to plan and direct individual treatment programs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that incorporate principles of health psychology, and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Prepare concise intake evaluations and treatment plans, and maintain ongoing confidential progress records.
  • Provide education and support to members and their families to encourage compliance with medical and behavioral regimes.
  • Co-manage medical conditions through the use of nonpharmacologic and behavioral interventions.
  • Conduct psychological and neuropsychological tests on a limited basis, and collaborate with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications.
  • Provide consultation and training to other team members in mental health, behavioral medicine, and health psychology.
  • Participate in program development, evaluation, and outcome assessment, as needed.
Requirements
  • PhD/PsyD/EdD in clinical counseling, health, or school psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Current valid license to practice psychology in the State of California or a valid license to practice in a state in the United States, and ability to practice under Business and Professional Code Section 2946.
  • Previous clinical responsibilities to include diagnosis, crisis intervention, brief individual and group psychotherapy, and consultation and collaboration with medical personnel.
  • Knowledge of state regulations and APA standards as it relates to client treatment, patient rights, and client/patient confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team and within a primary care environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Familiarity with psychopharmacology and health psychology background.
