About the Role

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient MRI environment, assessing patients, and performing routine MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify Physician Orders: Ensure accuracy of patient procedures and verify physician orders to guarantee a smooth and efficient imaging process.
  • Operate MRI Equipment: Independently operate MRI equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including the placement of IVs.
  • Review Patient Images: Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
  • Departmental Operations: Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, equipment maintenance, and other related duties.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Work Experience: Refer to Certification Section for required work experience.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT registration as an MR technologist, or equivalent certifications.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in computer skills, effective verbal and written communication, ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality, and other related skills.
