Job Summary

Christus Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients assigned to occupational therapy. You will work under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy and be accountable for adhering to all standards of Occupational Therapy Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Assess the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, functional, high-risk, and discharge needs of patients and families.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete and document initial assessments and care within required time frames, and perform reassessments as required or appropriate to the patient's needs.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with associates, physicians, and allied health teams, and coordinate ADL programs and therapy care with other disciplines involved.
  • Education and Training: Identify and document patient/family educational needs, provide and document teaching based on identified needs, and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction provided.
  • Quality of Care: Oversee patient care on the basis of patient classification and staff expertise to ensure quality of care, and re-evaluate and modify the plan of care based on the patient's response to interventions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy school.
  • License and Certification: Current Louisiana OT License and current BLS Card required.
  • Experience: Rehabilitative experience preferred, and certifications in NDT, metronome, Big and Loud preferred.
