Job Summary

The Workforce Development Coordinator performs activities designed to assist students with college and career planning, job search resources, and employment opportunities. This position works closely with business and industry stakeholders to collect and analyze data and information to assist in the development of workforce preparation activities.

Key Responsibilities

Engages adult education students in career assessments and provides assistance for students developing a career plan.
Connects students with employment opportunities related to their field of interest, including internships, externships, job shadowing, apprenticeships, and direct hire opportunities.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employers from target industries and/or workforce partnerships to identify and develop job placement opportunities for students.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, education, or a related field and one year of experience in workforce training, vocational training, and/or economic development. Alternatively, an Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, education, or a related field and three years of experience in workforce training, vocational training, and/or economic development. Or, a High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience in workforce training, vocational training, and/or economic development.
