Job Title: Advocate/Peer Counselor

Stavros is seeking a dedicated and passionate Advocate/Peer Counselor to join our team. As an Advocate/Peer Counselor, you will work closely with individuals with disabilities to identify their needs and provide support to help them achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with individuals with disabilities to understand their needs and provide support
  • Inform consumers about available programs and resources to assist with benefits and services
  • Coordinate and provide independent living life skills training, peer counseling, and advocacy
  • Assist consumers in developing an Independent Living Plan (ILP) and tracking progress
  • Work with consumers, community agencies, and local organizations to promote awareness of ILC services
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance (if applicable)
  • Personal experience with disability(ies) and/or knowledge of disability culture and etiquette
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
