The Pharmacy Technician is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the pharmacy team in various tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Run reports, pull medications, and restock Automated Dispensing Machines.
- Compound IV and piggyback medications using aseptic technique and universal precautions.
- Run labels using the computer in an accurate and timely manner.
- Fills, reconciles, and exchanges 24-hour UD medicine carts using McKesson robot and Cerner.
- Repackage non-unit dose medications correctly using PacMed and McKesson repackager.
- Replace and fill floor stock, including EMS boxes, crash cart trays, open heart meds, and Omnicell Anesthesia carts.
- Pharmacy Technician Licensure: Possess a full technician license or limited pharmacy license through the state of Michigan.
High School Diploma or GED.
Other InformationOther duties and responsibilities may include compounding oral and topical solutions, answering phones, and retrieving tubes and faxes. The successful candidate will be able to add barcodes to products, including compounded items, IVPB's, etc., using the MILT 3.0 program and PharmNet Inpatient Formulary Manager.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Typical Working ConditionsThe Pharmacy Technician will be exposed to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief, and death. The role requires the ability to move freely about the facility, wear personal protective equipment, and perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
