Job SummaryThe Early Childhood Education Assistant will work under the supervision of the Lead Teacher to provide direct care and support to children in a group setting. This includes assisting with daily classroom instruction, completing developmental screenings, and participating in staff meetings and training opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Classroom Instruction: Work with the Lead Teacher to implement daily lesson plans and activities that promote the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.
- Complete Developmental Screenings: Conduct regular assessments of children to identify their strengths and areas of need, and use this information to inform instruction and support.
- Participate in Staff Meetings and Training: Attend regular staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of early childhood education.
- Support Children's Health and Safety: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children at all times, and report any concerns or incidents to the Lead Teacher or Program Manager.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a positive and supportive learning environment for children.
- Education and Experience: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education with enrollment and proof of attendance in a CDA program required. Minimum of one year of professional experience working with young children in a child-care setting required.
- Certifications and Skills: Certifications in Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, and Caring for the Mildly Ill Child preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal communication skills preferred.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality care and education to young children. The noise level is moderate, and the work environment may include working with others, verbal contact with others, and face-to-face contact.
Pay Range:$16.20 per hour
