Position Overview
The Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Department is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care.

This role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, and execute care for patients, which includes education for both patients and their families, as well as planning for ongoing care.

Effective communication skills are essential, as the Registered Nurse must interact proficiently with physicians, colleagues, patients, and their families.

Collaboration with all members of the healthcare team is crucial to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.

The Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Department will provide care for a diverse patient population, including but not limited to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, and GYN surgery patients.


Educational Requirements

An active RN license in Tennessee or a compact state license with the intention to obtain a Tennessee RN license is required.


Essential Qualifications
Certification in BLS/CPR is mandatory within the first 30 days of employment.
Completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course at the time of hire or obtaining certification within 8 months is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with S.T.A.B.L.E. and ACLS certifications.
