Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to fill travel assignments in the Emergency Room at Yuma Regional Medical Center. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
  • Complete a 13-week assignment in the Emergency Room.
  • Provide care for patients in a Level 1-3 trauma center.
  • Utilize EPIC for patient documentation.
  • Detail prior experience, including hospital size, unit size, and trauma level on your resume.
  • Clarify any employment gaps in your profile/resume.
  • Possess an active and valid AZ or Compact nursing license.
Patient Care Ratios

Typical ratios include:

  • 1:5 for medical patients
  • 1:6 for fast track patients
Scheduling Information
  • Start dates are fixed and cannot be adjusted.
  • No guaranteed 48-hour work weeks and no block scheduling available.
  • Shifts may start at various times: 7, 10, 11, 12, 1, or 3.
  • Weekend shifts: 4 shifts per 4-week block.
  • Holiday shifts: Typically 2 out of 5, including eves.
  • Floating assignments are scheduled in advance, with minimal last-minute changes.
Unit Specific Information
  • Fast Track area: 6 beds available.
  • Dedicated triage area with 2 quick look stations.
  • Patient holding areas are intermixed within the ER.
  • Support staff includes ED techs with 2+ years of experience for EKGs, vitals, and blood draws.
  • Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 in the ER.
  • Equipment includes Glidescope, Hamilton, and Phillips ventilators.
  • Dedicated CT and X-ray services within the ER.
  • ED techs or RNs perform lab draws.
  • Orientation includes one day of clinical training and one day on the floor.
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue.
Additional Information
  • Radius Rule: 100 miles.
  • All requests for time off must be submitted with your application.
  • No seclusion rooms are available in the ER.
  • Varied shifts for physicians and mid-level providers are part of the staffing model.
  • Experience with gunshot wounds and stabbings is required.
