Local Driver/Material Handler

We are seeking a skilled Local Driver/Material Handler to join our team at Phillips Manufacturing. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for transporting materials to and from specified destinations, handling administrative documentation, and performing a variety of tasks focused on shipping/receiving, warehousing, and inventory management.

• Driving and Transportation: Drive heavy trucks to transport materials to and from specified destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
• Logistics and Administration: Maintain a vehicle log, in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Customer Service: Represent the Company to customers, the public, and other external sources in a respectful and professional manner.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect vehicle equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water, to ensure that safety requirements are met.
• Loading and Unloading: Position blocks and secure cargo by appropriate means during transit, and may load and unload the vehicle as needed or required.
• Inventory Management: Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers, and responsible for securing straps on product for safe and secure delivery.
• Reporting and Communication: Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle or product to supervisor at the earliest time possible, and obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods.

• Commercial Driver's License: Possess a valid in-state Commercial Driver's License.
• Physical Demands: Ability to perform strenuous work in all weather conditions, and ability to visually check equipment to detect adjustments.
• Communication and Teamwork: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, and ability to work with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
• Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and limited climate control. A pre-employment drug testing, background, and physical capacity screenings will be required.
