As a Law Enforcement Officer with the County of Culpeper, VA, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities- Patrol and Enforcement: Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and enforce laws and regulations.
- Jail Operations: Assist with the operation of the jail, including supervising inmates and ensuring the safety and security of the facility.
- Community Policing: Engage with the community to build trust and partnerships, and provide education and outreach on law enforcement issues.
- Investigations: Conduct investigations into crimes and incidents, and gather evidence and testimony to support prosecutions.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge, and stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, and completion of a law enforcement academy.
- Certifications: Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license, and be certified in law enforcement and first aid/CPR.
- Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and ability to handle stressful and potentially dangerous situations.
